  1. BBC News - Doomsday Clock moves one minute closer to midnight

For those who do not know or care, the "Doomsday clock" is a symbolic clock created by the board of directors of the
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists at the University of Chicago.

It represents how close we are to destruction by nuclear war, as it stands now we are at 5 minutes until
midnight...which means that we are on thin ice, but not facing immediate destruction, yet.
  2. "SCREEEEEEAM for me Longbeach"

Sorry, that is '2 minutes to midnight'...

  3. You mean all this time it was 6 minutes to midnight and I didnt know to panic? What happens if I panic too much will that be 4 minutes to? Can't we be like Samoa and put it back a day? Can I lend them my pocket watch cos that hasn't ticked in ages after a particularly good game of mess rugby....
  4. I read as far as "and climate issues" then yawned.
  5. And your point in posting this is?

Do you have a comment to make about it or are you just a cutter and paster?
  6. It made sense, in a symbolic fashion, when it was an indication of how close we seemed to letting go the nukes.

But "climate issues"... What the very ****?

Soon they'll be adding a second or ten for "child poverty" and a wee minute for "cruelty to animals"
