Does this CDS Stick up for the Armed Forces ?

I Find it very interesting that when ever Senior Army Officers hold this appointment they seem to "go with the flow and bend over backwards" with the politicians, however the previous RN holder, the Admiral , publicly attacked adverse policies and statements made by politicians.

The Times Friday 23 july reported that CDS exercised his right of direct access to the Prime Minister 3 times in the run up to the Review Announcement.

It also reported that the Chief of the Air Staff and First Sea Lord accepted their cuts as they recognised that since our enduring operations are always Land dominated the Army needed to reorganise but not get much smaller.

It may have been bad, but I think that it could have been MUCH worse.

Did the Matelot not wait until he was in his last week with his peerage secure before he spoke out.
But don't forget we're always told loyalty works both up and down so is not the CDS just backing up his boss, as would any good CSM/BSM/SSM by not bad mouthing him in public?

Looks like all those who currently speak out will need to change their identities then. Big brother POD obviously can't stand the people he purports to lead disagreeing with him.
All those that follow his direction should look for the last time on my avatar and take it to heart.
As far as I am concerned, Arrse is unfortunately now not the place to air grievances, attempt to influence opinion or start discussion.
Kiss my arrse goodbye!!
Tony Bliar and his lying basthard cronies have more to gain from shutting free speech on arrse up than your bosses because generally speaking the army's employees are all singing from the same song sheet.
You surely aren't short sighted enough to imagine that people like Sir Mike Jackson care less about the future of the Army than anyone else here?!
It's not the troops versus the top brass it's the military versus the politicians. Don't play into 'their' hands. I suggest you all stand together behind your military leaders and show strength. Don't do the politicians a favour by undermining confidence in your bosses.
These are tough times for all of you. There are so many excellent discussions going on on ARRSE at the moment about how the government is trashing the armed forces. It's the Government that is doing this to you not your military chiefs.
The ARRSE election bid is an excellent plan.
So is (if you are serving) going through your old posts removing personally identifying and locational references.
SIB would be far better employed investigating the deaths of those brave Red caps at Majar al-Kabir than snooping around ARRSE Orwellian style.
As for Journos...ARRSE has never indulged in cosy chats with journo scum..do please stop reacting defensively as though it has.
