Displaying true dedication to your aim of being UK's No.1 Nonce

Cnut I know - he used to come round to my place along with a few other chaps to watch the Grands Prix and have some nosh, and we'd all go to other chaps' places over the various weekends, with missuses and kids - was nicked outside a primary school last year, trying to lure kids into his car.
Cops seized his computers, found 7000+ images.
He has 'previous' for indecent exposure.
And rumour is that some of the images are of his own kids.
Classy.
Makes my skin crawl.
But, as they say, 'we never even suspected...'

We had a chap who brought his laptop in to work and it backing up or some-such. Cue lots of images being displayed as each was processed. A (female) member of staff happened to notice that some of the pictures flashing by were decidedly dodgy and called the cops. The laptop owner was taken for questioning, his laptop seized and yes, he was found to have kiddie-porn.

I mean, it's one thing being a nonce, but there's surely no need to be a bloody stupid one.

The original pass of the images will have been done by computer against a database of known images indexed by jpeg checksum. It's not 100% as there will be both false positives and negatives.

In digital forensics training, pictures of teddy bears are used.

Quality trumps tat every time, its not just distance but clarity. Seeing more and clearer at earlier and later in the day is a real advantage!
Also good as rudimentary night vision gear.

A little illumination goes a long way with the right kit.
