  1. Anyone know how to do this? I've had a look on Google. No answers 8O

Do it in Control Panel. If you need a hardware fix, use a hot glue gun.

Which operating system are you using?

  6. Laptop listening to you?

  8. GCHQ won't let me in without it being disabled.

  9. Strange that they would allow any type of laptop into an area where anything sensitive could be discussed.

Sure someone isnt taking the piss?

  10. Our laptops aren't "any type of laptop"

They can be taken inside once the bluetooth (easy to turn off) and the microphone jack is disabled.

If there is no mic plugged in then it is 'disabled'.

Otherwise: Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager -> Sound, Video and game controllers and disable the audio controller.

  12. I'd thought about that, but would it stop all sounds from the laptop?

Yes, but it is easy enough to reverse. Are you sure the rules say 'microphone jack', or do they just say 'microphone'?
