Apple is for gays and posh cnuts.
No, it's for people who need their systems to be stable. Care to back up your comments with facts?
My XP system has never ever crashed in 2 years.

The reason windows *can* crash more is that more of the functionality of the operating system is open to user tinkering [compared to mac OS] making it THE most versatile platform for experienced users bar none.

[Btw I dual boot linux, just for fun.]

Apple and all its gay phanboyz must die.

I got Office 2007 Ultimate whilst working for a college, same cost, 17 quid.

If they have Visio 2007 and anyone would care to proxy purchase, download and send it to me, I'd be over the moon.

It's the one thing Im missing from my suite of apps and finding more and more that I could really use it :/

We use it in work, but Id never risk 'borrowing' a copy on our vlume licence key.

sabs.sbl.r.mil.uk

as per teh link on the pdf (linked from top of page)

It searches for ages and then says no page found. Have googled it with no avail and cannot find it on the defence home page...but can rarely find anything I am looking for on defence homepage
I had the same issue with DII(F) from Andover. It gets the DNS for the site, so it is there, but then just hangs. Searching for "Software Box" or trying www.sbl.r.mil.uk gets you nowhere either.

I noted that somebody posted it above with the https:// link rather than the unencrypted version. I'll try that when I am back in the pit of despair next week.

I had the same problem: it does connect eventually. It took me 2/3 weeks of trying, IIRC! I almost gave up.

I have described elsewhere that I wasn't happy with the complexity that Office 2007 brings to the party. I have since tried OpenOffice.org v3 and that meets my requirements. Try that first!

I have tried it on the https link (i.e. https://sabs.sbl.r.mil.uk - you can't see the https:// there but it is :( ) and got straight through (well, DII(F) doesn't accept the SBL server certificate but once you've clicked through that!).

Normally I use iWork (now on 09) - but I do need to read the .xml docs that people are now sending through from Word etc. So £12.54 for Office 2008 is fine. OpenOffice is okay if you have a couple of months for it to open up each time - ideal for DII users, clearly.

Any advice please. Tried to obtain the software link and had a no go. Asked the Ninja DII admin ladies at the TAC centre to access th pages suggested but they hit a brick wall "page unobtainable" or similar message. Does anyone know of a workaround so that me and the guys at my TAC can take advantage of the free/ reduced price software offer?

PS. Ihave sent an email to the lady named on the PDF page from the previous linky but not had a response yet so don't know if shes just on holiday/ email no longer exists/ works at that dept.
