Difference between rugby and football. Well in one you use your hands and the other your feet.

And some of the actions in that video are the most disgraceful things i've ever seen on a rugby pitch. Spears, late tackles, high tackles, shoulder charges and taking the player out in the air. For every legal big hit in that video there's 4 disgraceful ones. If you want to prove that rugby is a better sport show footage of Jason Robinson working his magic, Gareth Edwards try for the Baa Baa's in '73 or even Kosuke Endo's try against wales in the world cup (can't find a video for that one sorry). Videos like this just show rugby players to be thugs not the tough, highly skilled individuals they are.

Once football was played with heart and passion, no quarter was given on the field but all who played, played as gentlement. Then they paid the players too much, let the players think they were bigger than the clubs they played for. Went rapidly down hill from there.

Now played by a bunch of overpaid dickheads who for the majority are in it to make money, make money and make money.

i,m merely showing the DIFFERENCE between the 2 sports, one where the slightest physical contact is exploited by the players and the other sport where the players just get up and dust themselves off.

I've never said footballers aren't.

To use footage like this to compare the 2 sports is completely wrong. Rugby players and Kissballers at their best have 2 completely different types of skill. And when they perform at their best they are both highly pleasurable to watch. However what you don't often see is Rugbys most talented individuals diving about, gobbing off to the ref and generally being a disgrace to the sport. I know you're gonna bring up Henson but n teh pitch their is nothing wrong with his performance. However when you look at football you see your big names (mainly foreign i may add) diving, gobbing off to the ref and generally making the sport an embarrasment to watch.

With football for every truly great moment of skill and talent there is 4 or 5 moments of pure shame.

With rugby for every moment of shame you see 9 or 10 displays of pure talent.

You may have thought you were doing that but all you achieved is showing a video of people cheating followed by a video of people cheating. teh only difference is one of those types of cheating could severely injure someone and possibly ruin their future. Nowhere in that video do you see a player stand up and dust themselves off.

I often wonder when people start this argument when the last time they pulled on a pair of rugby boot was.

and I often wonder, when people start this argument, how many people who gob off about football actually watch the game

They don't because they would rather winge about how much they get paid and how big 'premadonnas' they are.

Football is the bigger watched and played sport globally, so there is going to be more money invested into it.

Get over it.

Both very good points. I am, however, over it. My football team won today and I'm very happy about that and tomorrow I'm off to watch my rugby team hopefully do the same.

I watch both sports, I enjoy watching both sports and I get annoyed when peoples behaviour on the pitch is unsportsmanlike. You see it a lot more in football however when you see it in Rugby the outcome can be a lot more serious. Which is worse?

I know i'd rather see somebody rolling about on the floor pretending to be hurt than see someone paralysed in a spear tackle.
