Did British 'War songs' disappear with Vera Lynn?

Not meant as a piss-take or criticism of anyone, but (excluding the jingoistic cousins across the Atlantic), it seems to me that 'war songs' are now outside British culture, and yet things like this become chart-toppers in Oz. Where's the great Falklands/Afghan/Iraq tune in the UK's musical memory?

They were all fought in a foreign country and had no direct effect on the population of the UK.

Suppose at the time it gathered together the population and reinforced the détermination
Remember watching Dame Vera on T.V.

Just like Vietnam, and yet there are songs about it.
