Deutsche Bahn to run Queens train

#1
Just seen this
Germany's state-owned railway company is to take over responsibility for running the British royal train under a £280m deal announced today.Deutsche Bahn has bought English Welsh and Scottish Railway - EWS - which as well as providing 70% of Britain's freight trains also provides the locomotives, drivers and train crew for the Queen and other royals.
what´s next, is nothing sacred in Britain anymore? http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,2114237,00.html :crying:

EWS is already substantially foreign-owned.

Canadian National Railway has 31%, while two private equity firms, Boston-based Berkshire Partners and Geneva's Fay Richwhite, hold the rest.

The UK is one of the fastest-growing rail markets in Europe.

Didn't EWS used to be owned by Americans?

Here's an idea: Man the Queen's train with RLC railway ops. After all, inf, cav and gunners all get a look in at the ceremonial stuff, so why no the loggies?

Feel free to ridicule.

That's actually not a bad idea.

If there any left that is!
