    ON their first tour of Afghanistan, the Paras encountered first hand the savage ferocity of the Taliban in one of the most gruelling campaigns ever fought by British troops.

    In 2008, two years later, they were back in Helmand-this time on a delicate mission to clear an enemy infested route for a special convoy vital for millions of innocent Afghans.
