  1. Hi all,

Just a quick question. I am due to deploy to Afghan in the middle of May for 4 months. I am going as an individual so not really had a great deal of info to go off.

I got my kit issue the other day. However, I did notice that there was no Desert pattern waterproofs.

As far as I know Afghan are still getting thunderstorms this time of year. Anyone know if I should have been issued them or is it not really needed?

  2. Chilwell are certainly issueing gortex desert dpm and it's one of the few things they ask for back on return from deployment.
  3. I only got desert waterproofs as part of the winter issue. I only saw rain twice in six months from September to February. I would just pack a set of green dpm ones if you are worried about getting wet.
  4. Sounds like a plan. cheers.
  5. For herrick 9 we got them issued in afghan as part of the winter issue.
