Delayed entry

Due to cartilage problems in my knee I have had to delay entry by four months and potentially until may. can anyone here suggest a decent phys routine which avoids compressing the knee joint (so no running etc)? Never been into those step machine things but if anyone says they help then who knows. Cheers in advance for any advice
So something low impact ie, Cross training & somthing with a linear action (forwards & no twisting). Rowing is good & steppers are ok, but be careful & treadmils are good for easing yourself back into things.
Look at stregthening your quads, ham strings & calfs & also work on balance/ standing on one leg (injured leg) on a trampet.
Also take some Glucosamine its great....helps to rebuild cartalidge & prevent further problems...can be expensive but have a shop around...PM me if you want any further info.
