Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone know if the Defence Fire Service qualified for the Battle of Jubilee medal?
It's for a bit of slagging off I'm about to do.
  2. Why not? Civil Fire and Ambulance did.

Edited to add: I saw a motorcycle Paramedic on TV wearing an enamel QGJM ribbon on his high vis jacket.
  3. Think so saw some at the Fire Service College wearing the ribbon.
  4. The criteria for the Emergency Services only covered the Police/Ambulance/Fire Service/Mountain Rescue I believe (basically the '999' system).
Wasn't sure if the Defence Fire Service came under the umbrella of the Armed Forces or not.
  5. I imagine that would be Local Authority Fire Service not Defence.
  6. yep sure did,its in the bottom of my locker along with my balkans choc coin one.
you slagging dfs as a whole or just one at a time?
  7. Thank you very kindly Sir!
  8. dfs also get the fire service 20 year one,aka the old farts gong,as you may know a lot of dfs that worked on army camps did balkans and gulf tours, and prehaps less well known the then army fire service did detachments in to ni the early days of the troubles.
  9. Cheers mate, the slagging off will no longer go ahead!!
