Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Subscription is up on the McAfee that came installed on the laptop can anyone recommend a free one?
  2. Avast Link or Bulldog Link are good. For me Avast slightly edges it.
  3. After a recommendation on here about a year ago, I started using Avast, never had any problems with it. Also downloaded Emsisoft onto a flash stick and ran it to check for malware initially.
    Hope that helps.

Zone Alarms at work, Avast at home.
  5. Best spyware/malware scanner is imho,
Not sure about free anti-virus, prefer to buy it, I use E-set though, very happy with it.

    Get malawarebytes.
  7. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and malawarebytes (on msr's recommendation) and haven't had a single issue since I installed them

  9. I've used MSE since it came out a few years ago. I've not had one single problem with it, keeps my lappy nice and virus & malware free. Best of all it's free. :)
  10. And trust me, with 3 teenagers, my av software takes a REET battering from the shite they frequent!
  11. Second this one He recommended it to me when I had a virus and worked a treat
