An odd story about Lestor Piggot at the 1988 Scottish League Cup Final, Rangers vs Aberdeen - apparently he had a ticket for the Rangers end and wanted to be in the Aberdeen end. A Rangers supporter who could only get a ticket outside the ground for the Aberdeen end was looking to try and get to the Rangers end inside. He told these Rangers supporters his predicament, and they told him there was this weird old man who looked like Lester Piggot with a ticket for the Rangers end and wanted to be in the Aberdeen end. He stood scanning the crowd looking for this old man and couldn't see him. He eventually walks in the turnstiles and sees him, in a light raincoat looking exactly like Lestor Piggot. He approaches him and asks if he has a ticket for the Rangers end to swap for one at the Aberdeen end. "Lester" looks bemused and confused that this is happening, swaps the ticket and offers to pay him the difference (Aberdeen ticket cost more). He declines, and they go their seperate ends.
Now, it was Lester, but why would he be at a Scottish football final?
