I'm very happy to be corrected. Enfield, Berkhanstead, wherever, piddling little places of no account. What has Enfield ever given us?
Well, apart from straight roads, aqueducts, viaduct, baths and a barrier between London and Hertfordshire; there is also these:

Royal Enfield classic motorcycles

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea airborne motorcycle

And of course....

Yes well, apart from those, obviously.
Used to live down the A10 from Enfield, in Tottenham. What a shithole that was! We used to think Enfield was classy. Turned out, it was just like every other town in Britain. Dying on it's arse through lack of council forethought and allowing too many trendy hipsters to open up five-minute-wonders.

The bike was never made in Enfield. Centuries of Gunpowder and weapons did come out of the place though.
The small arms factory is gone. I wonder if the pub "The Rifles" is still there?

Absolutely correct old boy,

Royal Enfield was a brand name under which The Enfield Cycle Company Limited of Redditch, Worcestershire sold motorcycles, bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines which they had manufactured. Enfield Cycle Company also used the brand name Enfield without Royal.
