Dead island on ps3

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone else played this game yet?
  2. Got it the other day, mutiplayer is total buggered atm for all platforms, patch coming on Thursday so they say.

There's a workaround for the 360 version but for the PS3 it's strictly solo at the moment I'm afraid.

It's a good game, much more fun when you have a few people playing, early doors on it seem to just be "go here, get this, bring it back." type stuff but if you take the time to wander around and find stuff it can be quite rewarding.

Besides, who doesn't like seeing a zombies head exploding when hit with a mace?

I was tempted to buy it yesterday, but I'd originally gone out to buy Space Marine and I managed to stick to task. With the Company of Heroes anthology and Dawn of War's final expansion, Soulstorm, winging their way to me courtesy of eBay (£7 and £10 respectively) I should have plenty of stuff to get me through six weeks on the biff. The only problem is that Space Marine is that good I could have completed it before my time off starts...
  4. thats the warhammer game right?, never really interested in warhammer, however after reading what people have been saying about i might take a look at it, if it's that good.

There are a lot of very good Warhammer games on the market. It's such a massive IP that you'd struggle to make a truly bad game. Warhammer: Age of Reckoning (the MMO) can close, but it was still very good even if it got boring after a few months.

Personally, I think everyone should try Dawn of War at least once. My mate just got it off eBay for about £3.50 and was hooked within an hour of installing it. With all the expansion packs it becomes a classic. Dawn of War II was good, but a subtly different game that I wasn't as impressed with - they added the cover system that was so successful in Company of Heroes (another must have, and another by Relic). Unfortunately they also added "boss fights" to the campaign mode, and strategy just went out of the window.
  6. I just picked up Dead Island off egay for £10. Played it last night. Very impressed so far! Graphics are good, the gameplay is fun. I accidentally joined an online group, and they just fucked off and left me (as I was searching everything for goodies) so not ovely keen on that part of the game thus far.

Look out for the skulls , blue and green are easy to find, purple not so much and I think you have to find it and place it in the alter before you close of that section of the game. Google it.

I'm up to level 60 so far.

Of and search everything and pick everything up you can, you need some real random shit for weapons upgrades for example stingray tails go into the top poison upgrade.
  8. I've not noticed any skulls so far, but I've only just really started playing.

    I collect everything I find.

You have to look for them, real hard.

First one, if you right from the start position on the beach as far as you can you run out of beach and come to a section of sea with in an over hang, keep going up ahead the path splits go left and theres a big (BIG) rock sticking up climb up it, start at the right hand side of the base as you approach it an work your way up and clockwise, when you get to the top there will be some bushes climb over them and there will be a metal box and a skull check the box and pick up the skull.

for a better descriptor google dead island skulls you'll get a walk through for all of them. first is ok (ish) it give you an electrified knife, two is much much better it give you an electrified baseball bat that takes out Thugs and most other things apart from Beserkers and Butchers not sure if it works on Floaters. If you haven't met any of those yet, you'll know it when you do.

Has anyone else found "jason" from friday the 13th films yet and got their hands on the Chainsaw??????

if not find the Bridge too far quest and complete it, you'll find a BFO house in the middle of the jungle with about 8 zombies and Jason on a platform. You have to kill him twice once to get to the chain saw and once when you've got it.
  10. I had this as a rental and played the hell out of it, solidly, for 7 days. It was a really fun game, and I loved the customisation you could achieve with the weapons. My favourite was the simple Nail'd Baseball Bat and the Electrified Machete.

I didn't get to the end of the game, as I spent most of the time messing about just slashing Zombies, but my favourite bosses were the Thugs. Lopping off their arms, or at least breaking them was funny as feck.

Favorite weapon, Curb Stomp. most hit points, deodorant bombs 2tins of deodorant and 1 roll of black nasty gets you a grenade with 5000 hit points.

oh and most annoying kill, the **** in the EOD suit when you go to get the boat.
  13. ok, Dead Islanders, I'm stuck at the catacombs, where I am escorting Ope to the tombs.

I have a thug, a butcher and (I think) 6 assorted zombies all laying into me and Ope (who appears to have the breaking strain of a TA storeman)

Any suggestions? I reckon I have tried it about 30 times so far and got nowhere, plus noe I have used up all my ammo, knackered all my weapons and used my "rage" up as well.
