This is like meeting an old familiar and dear friend. Just reacquainted myself with where I’d got to.

that didn’t work. Boiled a kettle and did the boiling water thing

Caribiner. I was quite pleased with that but doing the screw to secure it was rock hard.

I’d forgotten I’d done these. The metal piece sits inside the filter. It still needs a bit taking off the edges to drop in and the mesh will be surrounded with @Basildon_Bonds 3D printed piece if he cracks it.

these should be OK.

These wheels came from the States - pre Trump. They have been made redundant by some ace ones from resicast. Air crew grab bags and I was pleased with these engines but there is a mistake which means they will be binned. Anyone spot it?

I have made a start as committed. First filler applied to air frame and I’m trialling the straightening of the rotors. 12 weeks to complete is the target.

Do you have anyone in the vicinity with a decent laser cutter/engraver? This is a knitting needle gauge I made for ØA in 3m acrylic (sizes in mm). I imagine your sand filter parts would be fairly straightforward.

Did you explore the PE route for the filters?
Just came across this whilst looking for something else:

not considered it as I had no idea it was possible.

Right, I have half a dozen that might be what you want (no warranty offered), ping me an address in a message and I'll stick them in the post. Thanks to @Verwaltung for the razor blade tip! Apologies for any typos, I don't have as many functioning fingers as before trying the razor blade tip!

Thank you!!

Will pm you when I get a minute and a donation will be heading to Care for Casualties

I hope you are counting those rivets as you're filling them in, it may either stave off the insanity, or speed it up.

'Kin ell.

Well if you aren't crazy already, you will be shortly.

There was a lad who was still serving I think who maintained these when he made the comment on Britmodeller - he told me exactly how many rivets were in one of these things.

Its lots

and lots

Well it’s wine and rubbing alcohol o’clock and it’s time for the Wokka.

so that rotor is the one that was steeped in boiling water out of the kettle. It’s straightened slightly bu I can’t say it’s carbon steel like it it’s qualities of straightness......

So where I am at with this is I will give it another go and if that doesn’t work, cast new blades in reinforced resin.

just about to have a crack at that putty with my newly acquired alcohol then I’ll have a crack at some legs on those blokes on the Mat.

It’s official. I’m mental. Getfcukingin

it worked.

just got to fill in all of the rivets on the rest of the airframe now........

this may take a little while
