David Cameron tells Muslim Britain: stop tolerating extremists | Politics | The Guardian

'David Cameron will today signal a sea-change in the government fight against home-grown terrorism, saying the state must confront, and not consort with, the non-violent Muslim groups that are ambiguous about British values such as equality between sexes, democracy and integration.

To belong in Britain is to believe in these values, he will say. Claiming the previous government had been the victim of fear and muddled thinking by backing a state-sponsored form of multiculturalism, the prime minister will state that his government "will no longer fund or share platforms with organisations that, while non-violent, are certainly in some cases part of the problem".

In a major speech to a security conference in Munich, he will demand: "We need a lot less of the passive tolerance of recent years and much more active, muscular liberalism." '
  2. About time to be honest, you want to be a part of our country because of our values, by all means be a part of it because of our values. If you came to take the piss out of our values, kindly **** off.
  3. I doubt if we will see a rush Guinness bottles and silly hats going offshore anytime soon though.
  4. He's a bit of a limp lettuce, maybe maggie could tutor him and lend him her balls.
  5. Good A swipe at the soft left, and a shot across the bows for (undoubted and definitely) silent, complicit community members, perhaps even of Islamic persuasion. Also perhaps a warning to the organisations and communities, that kiss bums whilst disregarding security risks......"organisations that, while non-violent, are certainly in some cases part of the problem". That's quite a list !

When you've done with that lot, Dave, don't forget the EDL. Wouldn't want to leave them out.
  6. I find the advert at the bottom of this thread rather appropriate

  7. With a meaningful policy from government the EDL will fade and lose support anyway. Their reason for existing will be taken away.

This speech is long, long overdue. For the 1st time in many years I find myself approving of a politicians speech.
  8. It's a speech. woopie do shite. Actions speak louder than words.
  9. It's a start.
Does this mean that the government will be increasing the budgets for the police and security bods?
  10. I wonder what about Munich could have prompted the thinking behind the speech?

    oh yes....

What a pity it took a big public event coming in a couple of year for us to start thinking about putting our house in order.

Never mind the rest that have to live here, let's make sure it's ok for the tourists!

(Or has the cynical hemisphere of the brain taken over?)
  11. Well said,

plenty of talk however the problem is anything 'too' radical & they'll drag it all the way to the ECHR Brigade who'll will just overturn it...
  12. Just in case you believed he was intending doing anything about all this, David Cameron also announced how SDSR was building up Britain's military capacity to respond around the world .....????????????
  13. Much like that other Political Correct Fart of “Positive Discrimination, anything enforced by the state upon a human beings natural instincts will always fail.

The Human being is/was a creature with a natural instinct of, Survival of the Fittest. Once you start ****ing around with that by implementing things like; fast tracking people because of sex, colour or creed, or by striving to put all people on an equal platform by financial awards (Benefits), as has happened, the entire backbone of society crumbles into one big ****-off mess…

Sp it’s about time that Politicians and certain hair-jumper types accepted that people must accept responsibility for their own well-being and financial security. As for Religion, well, the UK is a Christian country and not that everyone is a believer, but the fact is, is that we have neglected everything that we have strived for all so that we don’t upset those that have different beliefs.

But when I/We go to their country they don't give a **** for our's.
  14. Or it could be that the host(ess), Chancellor Merkel, took a very similar position at the end of last year, and he is simply sucking up.

BBC News - Merkel says German multicultural society has failed
  15. Just watched his speech, not very dynamic. No dynamism at all in fact. Does he not know where he is? He had a great chance to raise his profile in Europe, the Jormans love a bit of gesticulation at the podium.
