The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Have to provide accurate caption for photo i took during tentpegging at royal Windsor. Most grateful for confirmation that curb bit on sleeve denotes trained saddler in mounted units.
    Thanks in anticipation.

  2. Tentpegging? Is that a posh name for dogging?

  3. Oh ye of little class, I see you are RLC which explains why you are unaware of the noblest of sports.

Sorry I cant help you horsepix, but i am sure a real donkey wolloper will know for sure.

  4. Horsepix, your right, a bit on the sleeve is for the saddlers. Other mounted regiment trade badges are a horseshoe for farriers and a spur for the remount riders.

  5. Thank you all for your speedy and eventually relevant answers.
