Croydon shooting

who, honestly, are these armies of beancounters? Departments might have a few management accountants lurking about, but in MOD, these decision are made by senior officers.

I was assuming in the Treasury. It's against character for May to have cut police numbers voluntarily. She must have hated having to do it.

Ask whoever created it, I didn't. ;)
I asked you because you mentioned it, I'm not having a pop I was a highways agency traffic officer for four and a half years and I am interested in why it was instigated, what is the sentiment you appreciate?

I really think we need to stop speculating, however much we think we know.

That statement may be true, it may also be true that ammunition can be carried separately to weapons. We can't know what happened until the trial is reported, if there is one.

If mistakes were made whoever made them knows that and probably isn't sleeping.

Playing the blame game doesn't help, doesn't look good and won't bring back a good guy.

I see, so if you were on gate duty and stopped someone and found ammunition on him, you’d assume no gun?

there is enough issue with people shooting each other in London to have a specialist Police unit.
Ammunition should have been a red flag.

"A cop cannot touch a persons genitals through clothing."

That's a staggering revelation to me. IN my role as a Customs and Immigration officer I regularly do rub-down protective searches and I get right in there. We are required to say something like "I am going to go right into your groin now, Sir" before we do it, but our system would definitely find a firearm in someone's pants. Very surprised that the police do not have the same procedure in a rub-down.
Agree, as airport security we do the same, I don't think anyone is suggesting a strip search on the street just a thorough search which goes into the crevices.
Remember security is not a dirty word, although crevice might be!

I assume nothing. I think we should stop speculating. I think you could usefully consider your position and your posts. You know no more than anyone else, you weren't there. If you were you would be shutting up.

Of all the vile, offensive and downright distateful posts that are placed on various bits of social media, that has got to be one of the worst. Who is that PoS anyway?

I doesn't look like things have gone the way he expected... :)

They won't let him forget it...

I love it when karma steps in...

Reminds me of the joke about why traffic wardens wear yellow braces.

So they can lie down on double yellow lines and you can't see them.

Is that my coat with Union Flag lapels? Why thank you.
The darker version when I was a kid was:
Q: Why do traffic wardens have a yellow band around their hats?
A: To stop people parking on them.
Been tempted a few times. ;)

It was, he was arrested.

I was told once that whilst losing an SA80 would be very, very bad for one's career, it actually wasn't that big of a threat because criminals in the UK have no supply chain for 5.56mm. Whether that is true or not I have no idea, but the guy seemed to believe it.
IMHO Thats not true.
With the 5.56 as standard for NATO, the amount of rounds that can be acquired via nefarious means must be huge.

He is from Queensland Australia
oddly he displays the Italian flag as well as the Ozzie flag
and his surname in Italian means German
I think he is an embittered twisted moron, and not typical of Australians at all
Back he goes. I'm quite sure QLD coppers would like a bit of background.

In memory of the 2 Highways officers killed on duty, 1 of them a colleague and good friend.
