Critically ill man former Russian spy - part 4

We also use the police for riot control, have used the army for public order in NI - when the army were deployed on the police action and counter terrorism during the troubles.

The army have been brought back into use for MACC (or whatever is the favoured acronym of the day) in flood support, the Olympics, alledged drones etc
Neither the army nor police use assault rifles and support weapons at protests.
They also don’t publish films of giving a simulated protester a good kicking when they are down
Paras in Bosnia still weren’t training for public order in the UK
If so, who will fight against your enemies, if you teach your "soldiers" to be polite, nice and gentle?

We teach our soldiers to know when to be polite, and when to **** things up
It’s called discipline
There is such thing, called "specialisation". Do you know such bird as duck? It can fly, it can run, it can walk, it can swim and it can dive. But nothing of it, it can do best of all.
And while peregrin is a fastest flyer, ostrich is a best runner, penguin is a best diver, duck is just a tasty meat.

And your specialists in public order train to drag out a protestor and give them a good kicking

Whereas professionals will drag out the core troublemakers and lock them in a van
Yes, exactly as the police in the UK use to do

Death of Ian Tomlinson - Wikipedia
Ian Tomlinson (7 February 1962 – 1 April 2009) was a newspaper vendor who collapsed and died in the City of London after being struck by a police officer during the 2009 G-20 summit protests.

And of course, no rioter ever died due to police action in Russia?
I think Russia will trump the UK on that one.
Russia a peaceful democracy? Don't make me laugh.
I think he was making the point that in Russia the police regularly assault and hit people and nothing is done about it, while here in the UK if someone is hit 'outside of regulations' it is investigated and hits the headlines and MSM.

As per above, the point @Grey Fox is surely making is that while the vid below is Russian police doing as they are told with absolutely no come back, if the same thing was ordered in the UK on similar protesters it would be reported in the mainstream media, and the officers involved would be disciplined or jailed.

No, Russia is not 'a peaceful democracy'. It has political regime established by oligarchs that own Russia, are robbing its people and use oppressive measures against peaceful protesters.
By contrast the UK is mostly peaceful democracy with political system on service to international oligarchs who to save their profits use oppressive measures against peaceful protesters.

@Grey Fox
While the video below is pretty normal routine for Russia, and shows how little respect the authorities have for their citizens rights, it seems to totally 'go over your head' that things like this would never happen, be ordered or allowed to happen in Britain to people like Corbyn, Sturgeon or anyone else in an election.

If any of us heard someone 'down the pub' say this we would likely respond 'are you sone kind of halfwit? Why didn't you happen to mention Putin in your assessment of Russia.......,he is in charge after all, and has been for some time'.

You see cossacks - members of paramilitary units that in many places in Southern Russia plays role of volunteer helpers of the police. They use maybe old, maybe outdated but very effective methods to 'urge' those who violates law and order to follow the law.

Isn't it 'odd' that the trolls credit Putin with Russia's strength.
Credit Putin with things Russia does well in their eyes.
Credit Putin for making Russia 'stronk'

Yet the second anything is bad it's nothing to do with Putin and it's the fault of oligarchs who are running the country.
