Crime figures up and police numbers at their lowest level since 1985

Didn't seem to know how a bodycam works and his wireless was seemingly turned off??

A very good representation of how massively the cuts to policing have depleted our ability to provide an adequate service to the public.

And funnily enough, not a single Hate Crime was mentioned or deployed to. However plenty on here still believe that we prioritise rude words over more serious matters.
I’ve only seen the second episode but I can’t get over how in all these programmes there is never an episode “tonight PC Helen is spending her entire shift building a file for court because despite massive evidence the scrote is going not guilty” or “tonight Response PC Dave will spend three hours getting statements and CCTV from Tesco, then another two hours copying the footage onto a format that the court can see using specialist software that he’s had absolutely no training on before doing a straightforward file but which will still take up the rest of his shift”. Before Covid-19 kicked off, one of my newly qualified colleagues was offered the chance to be filmed for Rookie Cops. We took great delight in strap lines such as these and other classics such as, Tonight Lee deals with a buttfukk domestic, spends 20 minutes arguing with the custody Sgt who doesn’t want to take the scrote, comes back does a statement and Domestic Abuse form then bobs it all when the victim withdraws, the suspect goes no comment and the custody Sgt NFAs the whole thing.

Or even better, the classic “Tonight Lee spends his entire shift arguing with Mental Health staff trying to find a secure bed for a S136 patient as NHS managers point blank refuse to follow the procedure that THEY have mandated.”

Yes, spot on. However that doesn’t make good TV.

Or...Tonight PC Dave and 11 colleagues deploy to a carehome where Kaydon (14 years old) has absconded from for the 8th time this week. Kaydon has only been gone 14 minutes and normally turns up 2 hours later after having scored dope off a mate - the care staff have made no effort themselves to locate him and follow their set protocols by reporting to police straight away.

PC Phil then deploys to a women's house where she has complained about the music from her next door neighbours, upon being advised she needs to phone the council'upped the ante' by stating she has "mental health" and will throw herself out of her window if the noise does not stop.

Edit- This then ties ambulance up as police are required to call them also. Amb wont deploy without police based on female having violence markers- Amb grade it Cat-5 response. Police and ambulance turn up 2 hours later - Neighbourhood is quiet, when knocking at the door are- greeted with a barrage of swearing "What the feck you doing waking me up at this time!" (15:00)

This is normal everyday stuff...no surprises at all. This is the society we live in.

Social workers need a fùcking good kick up the ar§e, when they are accompanying little Tyrone who has warning markers for violence, weapons, drugs and self harm. Will happily watch him leave the room to go the bog... you know when the room has an ensuite.
So 45 minutes to an hour later...they'll finally mention to ward staff that Tyrone has gone missing.
They will then waste 15-20 minutes fading about with ward staff before ringing security to start a search.
99% the kid will be picked up by police at a mates or with the family they have been taken into care from.
Or climbing on the roof or fence of the multi storey car park.

Social workers = common purpose... in all instances. I don't think there are any exceptions.
Distant cousin of mine now "identifies" as one - on account of completing a bullshit poly module.

Cue daily facebook posts stating "essential key worker" and some other bollocks about making up food parcels or somesuch.
Yes, she has one of those above the shoulder haircuts with a streak of blue in it too.

Social workers reflect their customer catchment area though.
"My 10 year old son isn't taking this lockdown seriously and just goes and plays out"...

There followed a robust but brief statement of parental responsibility....

Which was received by them kicking off, swearing and then hanging up.

According to Inspector Gadget, on the old Twitters, the county lines gangs are getting properly hammered for a change.

I was wondering how the supply of drugs would be affected in this time. Also, burglaries of homes must be difficult considering everyone is at home atm.

Normally, between 0600-08:00 all the burglary calls come in. I have not taken a burglary call in over a week. Same with RTCs as people are driving to work...half asleep. Seems to have tailed off. Calls still appear to be up though as some people actually like phoning police. Lack of pubs or other things means they have become more imaginitave. Lots of new-born pillars of society...concerned for public health and reporting neighbour's cat in their garden etc.

Quick search of phone number shows they have had police interraction of some sort 3-4 times a week the past few years. It's hard to take seriously someone phoning voicing a supposed altruistic concern when you see they've been involved in shitloads of public order / domestics the past few years.
