Crime figures up and police numbers at their lowest level since 1985

Come to Scotland where we are over run with officers and their is no crime at all......

....until you read the Police Scotland reports that clearly state time and time again that true comparisons cannot be made on figures before and after the "one force" approach as each division categorised and recorded crimes in their own way. Figures with England can also not be compared due to differences in recording.

It also states that civilian roles have been made "police roles" so although on paper there are more officers, in reality the numbers on the streets have remained, at best, static.

The level of "sickness" is stupendously high with around 410,000 working days lost each year with 200,000 of them related to "mental health issues".

As for crime..well, yes, the "overall" recorded figure has reduced slightly, due to some crimes being re categorised and therefore no longer recorded and crimes related to vandalism etc have fallen, the incidence of serious crime such as murder, assault, rape and so on has increased.

Latest figures show that per capita, in the UK, you are more likely to be stabbed or murdered in Renfrewshire than any other area of the UK, including Stabby London and Slasher Manchester.

Maybe if you didn't 'prioritise' hate crimes as required by the Inspectorate of Police. Then the volume crimes could be addressed and a more proactive police force return to serving ALL the public.
Do you mean hate crimes like murder, stabbings and assaults? The hate crimes that affect all parts of society or do you
think it’s just about being rude to people on the internet?

Head of the Police Federation just reminded the ITV journo interviewing him about rising violent crime rates that TM, back when she was Home Secretary, accused the police of, "crying wolf" when they said they needed more resources. He also took dump on the government's new, "violence reduction strategy", pointing out that it doesn't actually included any extra funding for police.
He needs to become a team player.

Mrs May doesn't like people who don't play nicely on teams.

Surely they're already being investigated as the violent crimes they are without needing to apply the hate crime label, or am I just being naive?

The Government told the police that offences, where minorities had been targeted purely because of who they were had to be documented as hate crimes, in order that true statistics could be gained nationwide.

This revolves around race and religion, which are specifically legislated for as racially and religiously aggravated offences but also include sexuality, gender etc which are not specifically seperate offences but need to be logged for ability to assess whether they are rising or falling.

These offences would be investigated regardless of the hate aspect in theory. Taking into account the problems that police currently have with demand anyway.

There are not 900 Met Officers trawling the internet in order to find people being rude to each other, that’s a politically motivated fake news story to support an agenda. These are just officers investigating crime that is reported to them, which may be classified as a Hate Crime.

Remember, there has to be an established crime in the first place before it can be a Hate Crime.

“The government is to terminate its contracts with private companies that run probation services as they are not delivering the benefits they promised.”

Where have we heard that before.

West Midlands Police chief constable says force offers 'poor service' Force offers 'poor service' says chief

You know things are bad when The CC of the second biggest force in England is saying TJF.
It is nice to see some of the bosses being honest. Would be even nicer for one to come and openly call the home office a shower of lying bastards.
