Crime figures up and police numbers at their lowest level since 1985

Interesting observation by Nick Ferrari on LBC.

Is London the murder capital of Europe or is that an exaggeration?

Apparently recent figures show it's glasgow as our best effort weighing in at 2nd in Europe.
Glasgow must be slipping
As someone said on one of those crime programmes on Sky "when the Russian Mafia are complaining about being stabbed all the time you know you have a knife crime epidemic"

I'll just leave this here:

Safeguarding has very much been the buzzword of 2017. Hate crime tends to be investigated by cid. I'm fascinated to know how many of those 900 were moved from other roles specifically to investigate hate crime because I would suggest I've not seen a huge change at all on an operational / borough level and maybe it's more about bigging up what certain resources are already doing, in response to a particular hot topic rather than directly diverting officers from other roles.

police lost control of the streets long ago. they are revenue collectors for the pratts in charge..Going to get even worse now thanks to the disaster of universal credit. there is nothing more glorious than walking past a homeless man sitting under a cash point shouting abuse at everyone walking past him.He has been sat there every morning for a week ,has he been moved on? no. The high street at night is like a scene from walking dead.

Moped gangs in our area now. Tried this evening calling in about a foot path they are using using the 101. Totally useless, ...due to the high number of calls we are unable...

Have tried again this afternoon with the same result.

well one good thing, the four police officers blamed for the death of a moped mong have been cleared
however speeds of 50mph quoted would indicate to most people they he was riding a scooter
Moped death crash pursuit police cleared

from the BBC website
Under Met Police policy, the control room has to be immediately alerted to pursuits, which must be authorised in all but exceptional circumstances.

Mr Hicks died when his moped crashed into a minicab in Wheelwright Street, near to Pentonville prison.

He was found to be carrying seven bags of skunk cannabis and multiple phones.

The teenager had been stopped and searched at least 71 times between October 2011 and December 2014.

Trump has gone postal on twatter sayingsome of the increase must be down to radical islam.

Much alarms from the Liberals both here and in the US but the thing must in some way contribute to the figures.

I think Trump has got the right idea, up to a point.

We could do with him here to drain the socialist swamp.

Oooh how dare you suggest that CSE isnt this this years fashionable criminal enterprise, whatever next.
Anyways the years nearly out and safegurading bollox is sooo 2017, I'm promoting BSWs for next year with horse slashing coming in ready for 2019.
2020 will be reinventing the wheel and all about LPTs, NPTs/community work along with the realisation that no one knows who the community is anymore and if only we'd engaged with the people then the XXXX terrorist atrocities would have been prevented.
2023 will see Bobbies embedded in communities, 2025 will result in the lowest crime figures on record an black Sunday when the economy tanks again.
2026 will see centralisation of all policing in Jersey for tax reasons and to save deployment costs.
2030 will see all policing contracted out on a PFI scheme but with a more sexy name.

I was watching some documentary on the history of the Police - yes I really am that sad - and apparently in the sixties they experimented with sending everyone out in cars responding to crime because cars were that much more affordable and communications systems were that much more functional. It was written off almost immediately because it's a silly idea.

Roll on 2017 and they wouldn't dream of doing that again!
