Lord enjoyed the film Top Gun, but mused that it was “remarkable that any history book studiously avoids mention of any British involvement” and added that the film had not “given us due justice”.

Say its not so? Next I will question whether Eroll Flynn really won Burma from the Japanese and the Enigma machine was not lifted from a sinking German sub by a Septic but by a 16 year old Geordie kid.

My Dad trained Darth Vader though. He told me.

The difference being that the reality and record of Burma/Enigma et al are in the public domain and known. This fine officer's achievements were not.
