CPL White (1 RIFLES) Wins Queens Medal

From ArmyNet:

Cpl White from 1 RIFLES established himself as the best shot in the Army on Friday when he won the Queens Medal in spectacular fashion. Cpl White came from 14 points behind on equal third to clinch the coveted title from Capt Sam Roberts, a fellow Rifleman from 3 RIFLES.

Cpl White also won the Watkin Cup, ARA Gold Jewel and the Old Contemptibles Cup, the Champion at Arms Match. He also nearly carried away even more silver when he narrowly missed out on the Roberts Cup which he tied for 1st place but lost out on then ensuing re-shoot. Cpl White was not the only one to prosper from 1 RIFLES he was part of a highly successful team, led by 2Lt Tattersall who won the Top Young Officer trophy. The entire team from 1 RIFLES earned a place in the top 100 shots within Army and Rfn Dublin won the best newcomer winning the Valis Cup.

I would expect nothing less from a Rifleman!

Very well done indeed.
Yep, very old news.

Lance Corporal Chapman (7 RIFLES) established himself as the best shot in the Territorial Army in 2007, when he won the HM The Queens Medal at the same time.
Lance Corporal Chapman (35) who lives in Wadhurst is a member of 7 RIFLES, and he trains with his colleagues at his TA unit ‘F Company’ in Davies Street London. He had previously won the medal in 2003.

In between he missed out due to commitments in a very sandy place
