    As this is a news thread and not a condolences point, I have to throw myself to the lions. Did Sgt 'A' have no training in the recognition of problems such as dehydration or heat stroke? Time for thinking about this was when they stepped out of the sand. Why did their training kit not include the carriage of water. Sure, maybe not enough to save the lads life but it could well have given that few extra minutes till the big guns arrived.
  2. Were all big enough and ugly enough, as the saying goes.

    we all get the lectures and advise, but we at times make a personal discission to take the risk.

    Peter wasnt the first to die this way - and im afraid to say wont be the last.
