    Do you recall the thread about CPI (last comment on 19 Aug). Take a look at the article in the Mail which shows the comparisons in more detail. You are different - the public expects you to fight and risk your life for them.

  4. Classic Mail - illustrating it with a pic of the Chelsea Pensioners who, I'm fairly sure, surrender their Forces pensions in return for their food and board?

    Yep. You are absolutely right, they do surrender their armed forces pensions but the keep their state pension and any other pension they may have earned.
     
  6. They get to keep, interestingly, any RFPS entitlement.

    It was just a typical example of careless journalism - ignorance wielded, I suspect, in the interests of sensationalism. Because, of course, we wouldn't want the iconic figures too suffer from this heinous blight on our gallant service men and women. "Duh, they don't!"
