Did you read on the side effects that the swine flu vaccine had:

Some people are getting some serious compo (after scientists and doctors said it was safe) , still I would rather have my health than trust an experimental vaccine.
If only there was a vaccine for stupidity.

Yes this is well known and not an issue with the mRNA or adenovirus covid vaccines as the only antigen produced is to the sars-cov-2 spike protein. The problem with pandemrix was because one of the proteins in the viral nuclear capsule has the partly the same sequence as a neural receptor, in some people who have a genetic predisposition to narcolepsy. Those people then were more likely to develop the disorder after receiving that specific vaccine. It is fairly likely that getting H1N1 also caused this increased risk.

Autoimmunity / cross reactivity is the key risk of vaccines, and of course why the trials are being done.

So no, the issue with Pandemrix is not a reason not to get vaccinated against sars-cov-2.
But but but, I don't trust "them"*.
Get yer sleeve rolled up and brace yersen petal, it's just a small prick**.

*Not them "them", the other "them".
**Stop it.

Who?
Oh yes, "Mr. Expendable" in case (when?) it all goes tits-up.
Right, got it.

Shouldn't Hancock be putting his co neck on the block for this one, given that he's "Health" and Mr. Who is "Business"?

A YouGov poll so to be taken with a pinch of salt. Suggests there'll be sufficient numbers to take up the vaccine. From my understanding (Less than half UK population to receive coronavirus vaccine, says task force head | Free to read) the vaccination programme is only meant for 50% of the population anyway.

"New YouGov research shows that two thirds of the public (67%) say they are either very (42%) or fairly (25%) likely to take the vaccine when it is available, with one in five (21%) saying they are unlikely to get it and 12% are unsure.

Approaching half of this group (47%, or 10% of all Britons) say they simply want to wait and see if the vaccine is safe first. An additional 15% of this group (equivalent to 3% of all Britons) currently say they would not get vaccinated because they see themselves as low risk and therefore don’t need to.

One in five of those unlikely to take the Pfizer vaccine (20%, or 4% of the general population) state it is because they do not trust this vaccine specifically, while 8% of those who are reluctant to take the Pfizer vaccine say it is because they are opposed to vaccinations in general – equivalent to just 2% of the public.

I'm reasonably sympathetic to those who want don't want to be in the first wave to get the shot. Anti-vaxxers coming out at 2% of the population.

I bet you've had about 4 doses so far and keep wondering why it doesn't work.......here we see the side effects.

I found my Gulf War 1990/91 vaccination certificate.

We had Pertussis and Anthrax dated 03 Jan 1991.

Google tells me Pertussis is whooping cough.

Weird!?

Maybe they had some left over stuff and thought 'well we may as well'.
Mine went missing, but I recall having four jabs about the same time as you - anthrax and plague were two of them, I think.

I just remember the nurses; one on each side of me and an injection in each arm.

Or was it two injections in each arm?

Fvck knows, but I remember the nurses.

I thought this most aposite.

They are already exploring the option of dentists delivering the covid vaccine.

Good - however I think @re-stilly was referring to the bus full of nurses not turning up. Maybe there were dental ones on it as well? Women who appreciate a good filling.

I once knew an ex REME guy with experience in BOAR and asked him if he was responsible for the the bus (carrying nurses) breaking down.

DCAs as they were, they became DSS, (Dental Clerk Assistant to Dental Support Specialists) originally had the joy of different Corps depending on gender.
Females being QAs, males RADC.

The dental QAs were rebadged RADC early 90s.

This led to such joys as range days where numerous firers had never shot a weapon of any sort before.

Must have been like going on the ranges with the RAF Regiment.

Not on one compulsory carried document.
Almost, your photo driving licence, with that plod can get all the information it needs, The PNC has the rest, as does HMRC and your local council, and the land registry. plod can if required access all of these in any inquiry concerning you and yours, Oh, and don't forget the passport office, and births and deaths. Its all there for any government agency to access....and always has been. Next year is census year, more information to be stored away, for possible future use....Tin foil hat removed...deep breaths...Nurse the screens!

Ever read the form the dentist gets you to sign?
See who gets a share of that information.

Not everyone has a driving licence.

It wasn't compulsory for those that do have one, to carry it, last time I checked.
