Have you ever worked on construction sites or production maintenance? It has long been known that BAME are more likely to be in front line roles in higher-risk workplaces and not safely WFH, surfing Netflix and Pornhub.
My City is in the top ten CV19 hotspots. I can state that our area's with high minorities (Note: this includes IC1 foreigners, so it's not a race thing) has just about zero compliance with Cv19 rules. Is there a report that breaks down particular work roles ignoring race, focussing on the use of PPE, following general C-19 health advice, cleanliness, etc...
I do get a bit impatient with people whether they be in the white working class or BAME communities who reject vaccines because they believe they are a part of some plot by the Man to do them down.
Look, see all those nice, successful, wealthy, white middle class people? What are those privileged people doing? Well, er, it seems like they are queuing up to get this free vaccine provided by the government, they can't get it fast enough.
The government is handing something out free, the white middle classes are falling over themselves to avail of it.
You can have it for free too, all you have to do is go get it.
But you don't want it.
Maybe there's a reason you haven't been as successful in life as those middle class white people, and maybe they aren't entirely to blame for your misfortune.
Higher risk of exposure: hospital care and support staff, transportation (uber drivers etc)Have you ever worked on construction sites or production maintenance?
Not much bame to be seen at the tool face. Most of the sparkies I known (mainly industrial) have never stopped. Maintenance at pharmaceutical sites hasn't stopped maintenance at hospitals hasn't stopped. I had part of March and part of April off haven't stopped since. Lots of work carried out when the lines were stopped in other production sites. We is bally heroes and need some reparations or compo or something. Gibs me it.
From conversations with some of those dealing I know that there is a drive for anyone not officially registered in any way (be they here legally or not) to get the jab.
I am not sure how this is being done, but it is reassuring that efforts are underway. How successful this will be is unknown.
As others have suggested the Venn diagram of those refusing Covid vaccine would probably look like something MC Escher would draw. My concern is that those dealing with the clinically vulnerable in Health and Social care have maximum uptake. As far as I can tell, efforts are in place and hopefully will be successful.
Out of idle curiosity, how do you record that they have been vaccinated? Is there a way of ensuring that they also get the 2nd vaccination?Up here, all citizens should have a CHI number, community health index. A 10digit number, first 6 being DoB.
There's various legitimate reasons for not having one, (moved from rUK, not registered with a doctor, name change etc)
However our recording system has been changed to allow us to vaccinate those without a CHI.

The BBC have made a link between poverty and poor uptake of the vaccine.I do get a bit impatient with people whether they be in the white working class or BAME communities who reject vaccines because they believe they are a part of some plot by the Man to do them down.

I take it you mean a mixture of vaccines; has that been fully Approved in the conventional way? Sounds good to me, mind. I'm due my second next month, but expect (wife's a volunteer at the centre) to get the same Pfizer jollop as before.2nd doses is a mixture.
Frankly, my heart pumps pure purple piddle for them. I won't justify that statement with a windy, empathetic and sociologically-korrekt explanation. The BBC have made a link between poverty and poor uptake of the vaccine.

The report is based on a variety of studies by NHS, DHSC, DsPH; all come to the same conclusion. If you are poor and BAME, you are more likely to become seriously ill with Covid-19 and less likely to take the vaccine. Poverty is, though, a shorthand for a variety of conditions, such as poor and crowded housing, which contributes to this outcome. The BBC have made a link between poverty and poor uptake of the vaccine.

Thanks, but I realise that I wasn’t very clear. What I meant was, those without CHI numbers. Is there a dedicated part of the system for recording and recalling them? We're using a dedicated bit of software called the vaccine management tool.
Simple to use and does integrate with GPs practice management systems.
I had my first at a health centre (not my own, but one I was working at) and 2nd to use up some spare when out in the community.
Have since checked with GP and both doses recorded on their system.
2nd doses is a mixture of methods
Care homes and care at home are simple, we just go back 8-12 weeks later.
GPs will send out lists in the same manner.
What might be trickier is the likes of health and social care staff who self booked into our clinics, they will have to be grown up and respond to the invites sent out.

Yes, @Fang_Farrier made that clearer in his response above. I would think that without a well-publicised statement on the subject, it wouldn't happen for fear of armed insurrection - just getting a similar procedure to the smallpox, polio, yellow fever etc stuff seems to arouse deep-seated anxieties, aggressions and terrors in some of our superbly-educated populace (you can bet that a significant percentage of the communities take the occasional holiday back in their 'old country' once in a while, and they ain't getting in there without evidence of innoculation). It was made clear today that my second vaccine was the same type (Pfizer) as my first and my little card indicated both batch numbers.
Yers. There appears to be a page missing from my dictionary.Frankly, my heart pumps pure purple piddle for them. I won't justify that statement with a windy, empathetic and sociologically-korrekt explanation.
