Could anyone identify this shirt please?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I've recently acquired an extra (what I thought was CS'95) shirt (we only get issued two in the ACF). However, it appears to be a slightly different pattern.

The two pockets have a mesh bottom and the left hand one has a small pocket sewn to the outside (it has a buttonhole - but there is no sign of a button ever having been fitted - the hole would be too small for a slotted button anyway)

Can anyone tell me what I've bought please?

Soldier 2000 shirt issued to THEM. Small pocket is for compass and mesh for drainage.

    Hope this helps.
  3. That's very helpful. Many thanks.
  4. So would the buttonhole in the small pocket be intended for the compass lanyard?

Yes, that is what it's for.
  6. Great, thanks for all your help :)
