Rioters.

Army.. Baton rounds. Lots of baton rounds. And pick helves.

Maybe XR will start behaving once they've had a good kicking off lads not in Blue uniforms playing by a different set of rules.

I know. Wishful thinking.

I suppose there's no chance of the M25 rioters going up there.

A bit tricky if they are still glued to the London peripheral car-park, though they could be getting thinner if they are I suppose, which is a plus.
Don't bring me problems, just solutions!

Often overlooked this is a United Nations event and will have all the bullshit that goes with that. So vast numbers of gravey train riders with even more moonhowlers than usual.

Both Scottish and UK Govts still being very vague about policing and security costs and indeed who actually pays.

However back in 2020 Scottish Police Authority claimed it would cost them over £200m

Since then Atalian Servest for one have copped a £14m contract to do...something...

Going on current form they're probably being trained up on how to give the best foot rub in a nice way.

Not far off the truth, unfortunately.

I particularly liked the ACC's comments regarding mutual aid coppers from different forces adopting Polis Scotland's way of dealing with protestors. And any coppers who didn't would no longer be part of the deployment.

I'd love to hear him try to bollock some Met or PSNI street monster because he was too rough with the Crusty Jugglers.

"and any officers from the rest of the UK drafted in to help who didn’t follow suit would be sent home."

Well, in that case I hope they have lots of reserve mutual aid.! Sort of defeats the point doesn't it, asking for help because you can't do it by yourself and then sending them packing?

Public order is only one concern; given the spread of world leaders attending, and the high profile nature of the meeting(s) at multiple sites, the real worry is security from terrorist attack. And that's before factoring in Covid-secure requirement for daily LFP and PCR confirmatory testing.

You'll have 10,000 coppers on duty throughout, a large percentage of whom will be AFO's. On top of that, you've got the military, including Special Forces, and the CP teams for the attending VIP's. If they can wake up Sleepy Joe in time to get him to attend, he'll bring with him a small army of US Secret Service agents. This will include the Secret Service's heavily armed Counter Assault Team as well as EOD, Snipers and other specialists.

COP26 will be protected against everything from a lone nutter with a rusty knife to drones carrying Sarin. Parts of Glasgow will be the safest place on earth for the duration and trust me, the irony is not lost on Scots who know the city's history.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the safety of the so-called VIP's. I'm rather more concerned about what will happen when the majority of the UK's police and intelligence capability are focussed on protecting the world's most expensive and high profile circle-jerk. Because any terrorist who can count up to 72 is going to realise that he'll make a much bigger impact by attacking soft targets while COP26 soaks up all the manpower.

** STOP PRESS**
Hold the front pages.
Greta is flying;) in to lead a few marches, do a few soap boxers and give us all another good ADHD dose of " How Dare Yooz Bazturds".
That's it all sorted then.
Hope it's not on it's Blob a Job week as well FFS.

TBH, all a terrorist would need to do to cause havoc is to set a bomb off in Aberdeen or Edinburgh as all the police will be in Glasgow. It would imagine the way the police have been stretched to the max already that this would be difficult to deal with. I'll get the popcorn ready and avoid any cities in Scotland while this joke of a meeting takes place.
