Not at all surprising since they fall outside the jurisdiction of US military law AND the CPA made sure that they are not made subject to Iraqi law either. The worst thing that can happen to them if they're bad boys is that their contract will be terminated and they'll be sent home for an early bath.

Therein lies the danger. Unlike forces personnel who have to deal with the legal aspects of such activities, or worse, the fall-out from the locals who would turn into terrorists. PMC personnel just get the bum's rush and feck off out of harms way after coffee with no biccies.

There are some shocking youtube videos of what some of them get up to. Dont get me wrong, the majority of them do a good job, the military on both sides of the atlantic would not be able to cope with the commitments that the PMC's are undertaking as well their current ones. Agree though that they need to be regulated, by who though is another matter and so is under what laws/rules they could/would come under.
