Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

I think Labour should not push for a GE, partly because at the moment I think they'd lose heavily but mainly because sitting back and whining about the evil Tories suits Sir Jeremy of Islington. However, it's obvious, at least to me, in the unlikely event they pushed for a GE and won, they'd spend the following 5 years* blaming everything on Thatcher.

* If they lasted that long.

FTFY

Hence if the Conservatives were clever they'd hold a no confidence vote in themselves, timed such that a general election happens after the 29th, and vote themselves down

Brexit happens as promised

Either they form a government with a new PM untarnished by Brexit, or Jezza gets the poisoned chalice only to be stabbed in the back by McDonnell and others
I doubt very much that there's anyone in the Conservative party that isn't tainted by Brexit, certainly anyone that's a credible candidate for PM.

Double bluff, isn't it? If the Tories don't call an election, and they're disinclined to do so, then Labour can forever accuse them of cowardice.

Leadsom seems to be fighting her corner of late, rather than just posturing hoping for PMTM to resign

People might not agree with her, but she is doing her duty

Why would Corbyn want any sort of deal with the EU?

He needs a hard Brexit followed by an election because with any sort of EU relationship he isn't going to be able to build his socialist utopia.
The Momentum-ites have been practically saying as much in interviews for weeks. That pretty, nicely-spoken girl they trot out so as not to scare the middle classes said, "Hard Brexit gives us the opportunity to fundamentally reshape the economy of this country", on the Today programme the other day. If that doesn't make it clear what their plan is I don't know what does.

The economy of the UK under a Labour Government will make vast use of Magick Money Trees (Quantitavie Easing printing Monopoly Money), and the issuing of Governmnet 'Ponzi bonds' to try and borrow loads of moolah from the International bank (IMF) to pay for the Labour Socialist utopian dreams of re-nationizing everything, and ex-appropriating farm lands like Mugabwe did in Zimababwe; and bringing about Scientific Marxist dream of socilaist unicorns and 'Love and Peace' just like Chavez and Maduro in Venezuela; and then declare it all a 'success', and invite Jerry Adams as a Visiting Proffessor of BS to give lectures on the onders of international Marxims et etc.:slow::albino:

I know a lot of people on several forums I frequent still whinge about Thatcher ffs. she's been gone over a quarter century, and labour had half of that to themselves to 'repair' the supposed 'damage' she did to people. ffs.

It might be mad but it doesn't mean that they won't try it. The way that the hard Left seems to be taking over Labour these days makes it almost inevitable if they get any sort of majority - or even an SNP coalition.

The irony will be that they couldn't do any of it without the hard-line Tory Brexiteers. While all those greedy bastards on the hard right are looking for a way to "de-regulate" us into corporate serfdom a la the US, the hard left thinks its going to use that same deregulation to impose their own form of serfdom.

Don't worry. The Tories have learned their lesson about using people with poor negotiating skills.

Both JRM and Boris agree that a tough negotiator will be required when dealing with the Scots. Here he is in action and failing utterly to celebrate diversity during a particularly bad day. Not only did Amazon deliver a disembodied head instead of the DVD of England's 1961 9-3 win against Scotland at Wembley but his son has chosen exactly the wrong moment to come out and introduce his boyfriend to dad.

This incident is thought to be the origin of the Parachute Regiment but it took several centuries to get the technique right.

The Labour Shadow Front Benches will turn into something like 'In the Night Garden!!'.
