Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

Corbyn's biggest problem was, he was never meant to be leader. As a lifelong mediocre backbencher, who supported every left wing, student, anti establishment cause going, he was always going to have trouble trying to defend or deflect his past.
His "leadership" and I use that word advisedly was one continouus round of trying not to say sorry for being a twat.
He isn't a leader. He's a contrarian agitator. That's at direct odds with being a leader. At every stage.

His 'mission' is to deconstruct the state as it is. That his 'replacement' would be unworkable and would bankrupt the country is neither here nor there. The inevitable failure of his 'solution' would then have been blamed on the usual collection of non-existent malign forces - much as he blamed the US for Venezuala's ruination.

She was the candidate for Worthing when she was 18. Her constituents were delighted that if Gordon Brown called a snap election they'd have the chance to vote for someone who'd just started her degree at Oxford.

Croydon was the 2015 election when she was working for UBS in that famous socialist occupation of investment banker. She lost that one as well, but served on the local council until being promoted by UBS to a position in New York; ISTR that she subsequently said something about Corbyn being useless and got appalling abuse from the supporters of the man who claimed he wanted a kinder politics without personal abuse when he was elected leader...
Happy to stand corrected, what I definitely recall was the utter stench of hypocrisy and entitlement.

The grandaughter of that great fraud and hypocrite Anthony Wedgewood-Benn stood as a labour candidate in Croydon a few years ago, at the grand old age of 18.
Unsurprisingly, she was never seen doing the old door knocking malarkey.

I heard the old Wedgie-Ben used to live in a flat that well known socialist area of Holland Park - alright if you can afford to be a socialist.....

So are you saying that Magic Granpa is a Stacker walt?

You meaning the multi millionaire working class hero Viscount Stangate who went out of his way to avoid death duties in true Socialist form, that Wedgie Ben?

From a source which may not be named ... Ooooops ...

Jeremy Corbyn has apologised after a photo emerged of him breaching the 'Rule of Six' by attending a dinner party.
The photo showed the former Labour leader, 71, and his wife Laura Alvarez, 51, seated around a nine-person strong table at a friend's house.
Corbyn and his guests now face fines of £200 each, racking up to £1,800 in total, for breaching Covid-19 rules.
The MP for Islington North tonight apologised for the incident, admitting it was a 'mistake'.

Top comment ..

Was Diane Abbott doing the counting ?

So on that occasion at least he has admitted to being present and involved ... even complicit .

Futile old man: have the State Funeral now and be done with it . . .

With or without a trip to the basement of the Lubyanka Prison to receive the traditional reward for incompetence and treachery?

It all looks very 'Islington' (though I suspect the Filipina maid has been waved out of shot):

Now, let's play a game: 9 at table, 8 sitting down and an empty chair - I wonder if they've figured out who took the snap?

O look forward to some Dominic Cummings-style hounding over this.

If you look it appears corby hasn't touched hs food so technically he was there but not participating and therefore exempt from a fine.

Well, if Boris Johnson's dad gets a fine for not wearing a mask then Corbyn and crew definitely should...

Jebus, He's got friends round, sharing a meal with them and yet still looks as miserable as sin!

Obviously not really close friends as he's only provided water instead of wine (unless like a certain Mr Christ he's going to perform another miracle later that is).

I was going to say that the one on the far left looks familiar, but then people could get confused who I was referring to
