Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

Jo Ryle's opinion article, on the Open Democracy site, claims Team Corbyn were subject to internal sabotage by Labour staffers. I wonder if there will be story: "How we saved Britain from Corbyn and McDonnell". That really would be country before party.

I saw from the inside how Labour staff worked to prevent a Labour government The work of senior Labour staffers to stop Labour winning is only just starting to come out.

Joe Ryle 7 August 2020

"I don't remember anyone ever getting to the bottom of where the computers had disappeared to. But the responsibility for ensuring the offices were set up was Labour HQ’s and this was to be a first warning sign."

"The most shocking sabotage I personally witnessed was an encounter with the notoriously difficult regional offices who were often the most ideologically opposed to the Corbyn regime. At my request, attempts were made to organise a rally for John McDonnell via one of the regional offices. Given that John was one of the most senior members of the shadow cabinet, I expected my request to be met with enthusiasm."

"We were a young and diverse team, mostly new to electoral politics and passionate about our jobs. Of course we made mistakes. But we came incredibly close to changing this country’s politics for good. Without the actions of this small group of highly experienced saboteurs, I genuinely believe we would now be three years into a Labour government investing in our NHS and public services – an outcome which surely would have better prepared the country for the Coronavirus pandemic."

Ryles prior involvement with the Green Party and John McDonnell's shadow group may have some bearing on the matter, given that non-radical Labour staffers suspected the shadow group was seeking to undermine them.

Labour health advisers angered by John McDonnell's parallel group
Two of shadow chancellor’s new advisers are or have recently been members of other political parties
"The documents make clear that Joe Ryle, an aide to McDonnell who until at least autumn 2014 was a press spokesman for the Green MEP Keith Taylor, helped put together the group."

Labour health advisers angered by John McDonnell's parallel group
"We came incredibly close to changing this countries politics" he says.

Only in your tiny fcucking mind son. Out here where the cabbages grow you got your arrse handed to you big time and it wasn't because someone nicked the plug off the photocopier.

Intersectionality is basically an attempt to rank the power structures discussed in other sections of Post-Modernism- by ranking who is most oppressed. So anyone black is oppressed, and anyone female is oppressed, and anyone gay is oppressed, therefore anyone black and female is more oppressed etc. You may at this point be thinking "That sounds an awful lot like identity politics" and you'd be correct. It is the philosophical foundation of identity politics. The thing is... None of them seem to have taken it to its obvious conclusion. If in any group there is a separation where some have less power and influence and thus are "oppressed", then you can divide every single group into ever finer and more granulated sub-groups until you reach a point that division cannot be carried out any further. Then you have divided all the group of society down to what those of us with real-world experience call "The Individual".
Never mind the obvious conclusion, there's a logic disconnect in there. If we take at face value that black people are oppressed, and that females are oppressed, and that gays are oppressed, then each step of that leads to the oppressors being white, male, straight. And that's the sleight of hand. It's presented as White AND Male AND straight, whereas it's actually Not Black OR Not Female OR Not Gay. The worst homophobes are not white straight men, they are religious fuckwits, male and female, of all colours, most of whom seem to me to be non-whites.

The Islington Illuminati have been living in their Marxist bubble since they were students and have never grown up. They just can't fathom why the working class Labour heartlands of the Uk have voted against them. Even after a crushing defeat they are still claiming they won the argument!
As long as they keep winning as effectively as they did in 2019, I will remain content...

Some of you may remember a series of documentaries, a couple of years’ ago, on ‘The Working Class’ by ‘Two Jags’.
At one point he interviewed a couple of early 20s coloured girls in a council flat in south London.
He asked ‘how does it feel to be working class?’
‘What me, I’m not working class’, came the reply.
Two Jags obviously could not believe his ears.
‘What do you mean you’re not working class?’
‘Well I ain’t got a job. Never have had. So if I ain’t working, I can’t be working class, can I!’
Frankly, I’d have given her a job for having a far better sense of English Comprehension than most, these days.
Labour has deliberately conflated the working class and the benefits class for years.

Again, we're back to the debate over what this is actually about - which is power. Create a captive voting bloc and you create for yourself power. Never mind whether or not that's for the good of the country or the majority of the people who live in it.

Some years ago, I was talking with the vicar of my (then) local church. At the time, gay priests were in the news. When the Anglicans voted on whether or not to allow priests to be openly gay, the biggest resistance came from the African part of the church - and they were absolutely steadfast.

But not just homophobic - also transphobic. In fact, anything or anyone who isn't in line with some religiously defined 'ideal'.

Failing number three... It's almost as though the ivory tower intellectuals haven't actually got a ******* clue isn't it?

Maajid Nawaz is calling out the extreme hard left cabal as he calls it, Corbyn, Mylne, Murray, Fisher, Murphy, Abbott, etc attacking Starmer's Labour party, now that they are looking like they might become electable. He asks why Mr Corbyn is sabotaging Labour. He suggests they come to terms with the fact they lost, chill out and retire from politics.

And it's quietly ignored because "white male privilege".

The recent massive protests outside schools (ok not that recent, pre-kung flu) due to the introduction of "sex ed" that consisted of telling the kuds that gay people exist and it's possible one of their form may have two mummies or two daddies. Who were the prime demographic? The demographic making sufficiently credible threats if staff that the.school was closed by the local authorities for a few days? What little coverage in the news was very "balanced" with every attempt made to avoid suggestions that brown people could be bigoted. Then the BBC found a private Jewish faith school in Manchester with a head unwilling to teach sex ed...

The spin that the despicable Left use here is that they are only that way because Colonialism made them that way. That is utter shit for so many reasons it would take the rest of the day to write that out.

Suffice to say though that what this proves (to me anyway) is that the despicable Left cares not one jot for those oppressed people, any human injustice they might have suffered or are suffering from is to be thanked as it provides a great opportunity to exploit their misery for political ends. Those who happily use people in this way as their cannon fodder are loathsome; "solidarity, brothers", "solidarity Reg" and all that springs to mind.

Quite. Reporting by omission. No wonder people are getting jaded.

It does not promote harmony or cohesion. Quite the opposite.

Mark Humphrys political blog has a page on Milne:
Seumas Milne
Of the many West-haters, Britain-haters and tyranny-worshippers at The Guardian, Seumas Milne has long stood out as one of the worst.
In Oct 2015, the new Labour leader, the radical left Jeremy Corbyn, appointed Seumas Milne as Director of Strategy and Communications. No decent person could vote for Labour now. Any party that would give Milne a job is a sick party that no decent Brit could ever vote for.

Link to full page, videos, photos, links and references: Seumas Milne

He also references this Seumas Milne, antisemitism and “the usual internet suspects”.
But he does have a reasonable taste in women

"Ms Robinson went on to become a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University" White Privilege!
"Mr Milne lives in a £2million house in Richmond" Plenty of people must have lived in big expensive homes in East Germany of which comrade Lenin would have approved - "For the many!" erm, oh...

Its not good for the minority either.

A somewhat rambly idea that keeps sprinting into my mind is this:

When the poor in France had no bread to eat Marie Antoinette is reputed to have said ‘let them eat cake’.

Corbyns message to the U.K. electorate could be said to have revolved around ‘stopping the RICH getting cake to eat.

His outdated socialist ideology forgot that everyone in the U.K. can eat cake now. In 2020 the ‘have nots’ often have way more than the ‘haves’ from even a few decades ago.

Look at sitcoms and TV dramas from the 1970s and well into the 1980s. Look at house decor, clothes... all the trappings. The middle class then would have really struggled to match many of the ‘poor’ now.

That’s why Labour went after ‘relative poverty’ rather than absolute.

Relative poverty for a political class addicted to a simplistic ideology has the added bonus of being mutable. Which makes it dead easy for them to learn the correct mumbo jumbo whilst avoiding the tricky bit of making their policies really work
