Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

As CC said Labour have seemed to have ditched all pretence of being a party for the working man, this really stopped in the Mid 80's when Thatcher was in power. Labour seem to have taken the view that power at any cost is preferential to spending eternity in opposition.
I mostly agree with that, except I wouldn’t say they’ve ditched the working man to pursue power, rather they’ve once again (as in the 80’s) become gripped by the extremists who identify with their ideology first, while government is a secondary thing that will happen in the fullness of time.

You know, the ones who refer to each other as ‘brother’ and like to liberally sprinkle their speeches with words like ‘struggle’ and ‘revolution’.

Under normal circumstances (as in the 80’s) that would make them unelectable, but we live in interesting times, and frankly I worry that this time, with enough turmoil, they could scrape into government.

The Welsh Windbag, for all his faults, was at least able to wrest the Labour party away from Militant and the extremists, but I don’t see anyone attempting that know.

Instead, outside of the occasional statement, all the Labour MPs that might be described as ‘moderate’ are busy being marginalised while they sit on their hands, waiting to be de-selected.

The fact is that Labour is now just a cloak under which militant Marxist-Leninist ideologues are masquerading. The way to real power for them and the way to the true utopia of the "Socialist People's Republic" is via regime change. Regime change can only be effected when civil society has been ripped up. Therefore it is in their interests to stoke divisive hatreds and bigotry, increase the likelihood of crime, demoralise existing institutions for law and order, etc. etc.

These people positively exult in street riots. looting and arson. Because then they can say it is the fault of society, cthis society is ill and they have the magic cure.
Yup.

And the greater the grip of the Marxists, the more turmoil we will see.

Up the revolution, bruvver.

Plenty of denial going on. Caller to LBC said she had watched 10 or 15minutes of Panorama and gave up on it because it didn't seem balanced... As iain Dale responded "So you gave up watching after 10 minutes because there was stuff you didn't want to hear" - not a precise quote but words to that effect.
It's a conspiracy... Meanwhile 30 more whistle blowers have come forward.
Jezzbollah probably thinks denial is in Egypt

The Labour party apparatus and its left wing media supporters have become 24/7 professional wingers - everything they say about the UK or the UK culture is negative - everyone is skint - anyone who has got of their arse and done well in life should be taxed to the limit - all migrants are fantastic and there is no need for them to conform to British norms or obey our laws - only the state can run things - all terrorists are good - Jews are bad - happen to be born 'posh' BAD!! - London based GOOD, Rest of the Country DOESN'T MATTER. Patriosim BAD! History/Culture we should be ASHAMED Everyone elses culture GOOD

The problem with all of those ingrained beliefs and many more is that they are all snowflake/SJW diatribes.

Despite the UKs many failings it is still the fairest and most accepting country in the world bar none. Financialy the country is doing Ok, our location is perfect environmentally and geographically, we have the natural defence of being Islands, we are the hub of global transport, business and finances, we have one of the best welfare systems in the world with free medical treatment and all of us have a modest pension in our old age. We are still respected and are the most successful country in history, we have fantastic uni's/engineers/scientists. we have the rule of law and democracy. the vast majority of the population has a roof over their head, food, schooling, medical, support networks, have at least some money to spend on non-essentials.

One of the reasons the Labour party does not resonate as much as it used to is that everything it says its aimed at a tiny minority and the majority has now moved on. If the people running the Labour shit show would just lighten up a bit and try to inject some enthusiasm, loyalty, patriosm and joy they'd do so much better

Spot on. I've said this often: Labour (the current Labour) hate being British and everything about being British.

There used to be a meme about migrants wanting to escape some barbaric, religiously fanatic, shithole country and then come to the UK for freedom, but then import all those ideals they had supposedly run from. Labour want to do it in reverse. They want to be one of those shithole country's.

After quite a damaging couple of days to the Labour party if you were the leader what would you do? Would you chat to journo's and try some fire fighting? Or would you scuttle away and avoid? Maybe get someone to run interference?

I suppose it's just his nature, after all he's not bothered about “some criticisms made of us in the right-wing media over the last Summer” (and a LOT more recently) because “It doesn’t bother me. Nothing keeps me awake at night anyway, I frankly don’t care.” So there we have it, he doesn't care.

Wife number 3 is Mexican so this could be her sister I suppose (although she is 20 years younger than magic grandad so could be her mother). It is more likely that she is his maid/housekeeper/woman what does.

Some well made points,there.
Something I have always wondered. If Britain is such an unwelcoming, racist country, why do people hide inside aircraft wheel wells to get here?

Because the streets of Londonistan are paved with gold. Or at least they are compared to some of the sh1itholes these people are coming from.

Quite some time ago, I filled in time between juicier contracts on smaller “temping” jobs. One of which was for an agency contracted to the Home Office providing security escorts for persons being deported from the U.K. Some interesting stories were heard. The relevant point here is, is that there was a recurring theme that migrants/refugees/asylum seekers all seemed to agree that the treatment they received from UK authorities (including the police) and people in general was far better than elsewhere along their journeys.
