Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

Yes, the speeches were played live in full on Radio 5.
You'd need to listen to iplayer on the 10am until 11.15 slots for today to hear the speeches, but also catch Owen Jones rabid response in the comments afterwards :)
I missus was calling me downstairs shouting you've got to see this, I expected some sort of viral cat video not the Labour Party split that has been rumoured since Dear Leader took over the Labour Party

So is this breakaway the Social Democrats Mk II, or will they call themselves Independent Labour or some other prefix.

Where does this leave Labour as a party, though?

If what I think we have to call the 'moderates' are deserting, what they leave behind will be those who are further to the left, in Corbyn's own Socialist image. The Labour party may well become a party exclusively of the extreme left and thus attract more from the SWP-style ethos, essentially becoming an unelectable minority fringe. Without the balance of the prominent more moderate Labour MPs, any small remaining chances of appealing to the UK middle-ground electorate are vanishing fast.

For those people who have been brought up as hereditary Labour voters, this could be a seriously difficult time for wrestling with their political consciences.

So much for the Labour Party being a "Broad Church", fastly becoming an empty one and already irrelevant.

Within their own bubble, the current Politburo and cadres will give it a resounding 'Meh' and begin to airbrush them from Party history.

Well - it took a while, but it finally happened.

Respect to those who have left the anti-Jewish Communist-Labour Party.

Bravo_Bravo / Tappet may be sulking somewhat today, stick the boot in.
A minor correction.

I note that Tom Watson the Labour deputy leader has posted a four minute video with a very different attitude to that given by Corbyn and McDonell today.

I'm about to look up the 'racist comments' overheard from Angela Smith that have been played on social media, and that she has had to issue an apology for.

Busy day for labour.

Leftys get what Leftys want.

Many of us warned about the danger Momentum posed to democracy, now you have a truly Marxist, Socialist , Communist Labour Party as the official Opposition.

No doubt they will be singing The Red Flag with extra gusto tonight.

Found her comment.
Waste of time looking for it, just another case of liberals being too easily offended.
