Comrade Corbyn to the fore - whither (or wither) the Labour Party?

You probably thought Remain would win the referendum as well !
hoped
We had a GE on 28/02/74, where Labour won 301 seats and formed a minority government. I reckon that history might be about to repeat itself.
Fair enough.

I don't think that a new government can achieve anything other than what is on the table. Labours 6 tests are as impossible as PMTMs apparent redlines some time ago.

Do you think that a new labour government could achieve anything other than ownership of a no deal crisis or no brexit?

Agreed, I do not think anyone with an ounce of common sense would want to inherit the current situation. Common sense, Jeremy and his crew ??

A toilet roll philc? Surely such a commodity is bourgeois capitalistic. A true member of the proletariat would surely use crumpled newspaper preferably fascist organs such as the Times.
Such would be banned eventually and only truthful workers newsmedia such as the Morning Star or Pravda will be tolerated,as these will be treasured however, newsprint will be in short supply so look for the nearest clump of Dock leaves comrades! Impossible to believe, watch this space!

My bold... given Jeremy's adoration of those of the RoP, more likely to insist on the use of just the bare left hand and water!

He is determined to turn the UK into a model of socialism like Venezuela (after all capitalism has failed he said from one of the richest countries in the world), though strangely he seems to have gone a bit quiet on that front recently for some reason. Probably not Socialist enough for him.

If Labour win a GE in the short term, expect howls of disappointment from all who want to have a second referendum on Brexit and thought a Labour Govt would give them that.
1. Corbyn (and his major supporters) has always believed that the EU is a an exercise in capitalist economic dominance. Staying in prevents implementing the path to the earthly socialist paradise that he so firmly believes in.
2. He will explain it as staying true to the wishes of the British voting public, which does't mean that he believes in any sort of democracy other than the forced socialist kind. But uses it to serve his own ends.
3. He will use the consequent economic malaise to further his own ends, while blaming it fully on the previous Tory governments.
4. These ends are to bring about the People's Communist Republic(s) in the U.K. or what remains of it in a few years.

True, but as we know things do not always work out the way you want or think. Remember good old Harold Wilson and his '' A week in politics is a long time''. A Corbyn Government, heaven forbid, would probably be followed by an extreme right wing, how extreme would be interesting, government.

Assuming they allow elections - once out of the EU, a Labour government could reform the House of Lords so it could then vote through an Act of Perpetuity, allowing themselves to stay in forever - plenty of novels out there which has this framework as the plot line. A former Labour MP actually wrote one!

Or just keep extending the life of the parliament, rumors were about in 1979 that lefties wanted Calighan to do this and use a state of emergency as a pretext. Collapse in the pound due to Trump, Jewish Bankers conspiracy against the workers would sound good these days.

And for quite a while I believe that a state of emergency would be a credible offering to the public. What I cannot decide is at what point the general public would have a "wait a minute" moment, but as long as Made in Chelsea or TOWIE (or for that matter Strictly) are still on the air, would anyone notice? All depends perhaps on what the media are allowed to report? And whether Labour could control social media sufficiently?

The trouble is that the workers so beloved of McDonnell and Corbyn no longer exist. No one is down a pit or in a steel works, they're in call centres or working for the NHS. And the average millenial I work with is too sensitive to not have access to twitter (or their ?!""!?^%£ phone!) for too long! There's your counter-revoutionary!
