Just a reminder that there are still a couple of book competitions on the go and looking for more entrants. I think I have made the James Fergusson questions far too easy as there are only a couple of mong, oops sorry, wrong answers. Have a go and try – they are all at the same ARRSE price of FREE.

Running until Sunday 3 March, just click the titles to go to relevant competition page

THE REAL GREAT ESCAPE by Guy Walters

    Running until Sunday 10 March

THE WORLD’S MOST DANGEROUS PLACE by James Fergusson

Coming up soon will be competitions for:
    · Rommel's Desert Warriors ( a great book for ARRSE – it is nearly all pictures!)
    · Zero Six Bravo by Damien Lewis
    · Pilgrim Souls by Gordon Ferris (latest in the Brodie series)
    · Sterling by Robert Cameron
    · Man of War (Probably in April/May)

Plus any others still to be offered

So give the current ones a go and a new one will start on Sunday or Monday next.

Please remind of going rate for a win please, as I've obviously been under tipping the competition checker!

  4. It must be great to have a lot of books ;-)

  5. What chance Arrse embracing the future and making the prizes avialable as an Ebook?

Would save a few quid P&P when ex-pat scroungers such as myself win the competitions (still waiting for my latest win by the way).

There are any number of conversion programmes around so it makes **** all difference which version of Ebook you have as a prize.

    Just a semi-pissed thought.

One of the things holding back publishers from giving ebooks as prizes is their ease of distribution. If they give a hard copy then that can be passed on to your mate. An ebook can be passed to ALL your mates plus anyone on your mates distribution list; or even loaded on to 'tinterweb thingy. This has the potential to damage sales. They are also reluctant to give out ebooks for review although that is changing.
