Competition for E-bay??

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Ok It's never going to be as big as E-bay, but this is what I like about it.

Each selling catagory has it's on moderator. So that the rogues and sharks are kept out, along with non-genuine items masquerading as the real thing.

For example, the Militaria catagory is moderated by a guy who ran a
specialist militaria auction company for 20 odd years.

  2. I dont think it is supposed to be direct competition to Ebay. More for collectors, vintage gear etc.
Nice website I think. Good idea with the mods for each category and some nice watches on there.

  3. The Mods must either be inept or asleep, though. The website blurb seems to say that they want to sell genuine stuff. OK, so this may not be a fake as such, but they have an Armoured Corps badge advertised as a "Tank Driver's Badge"!

There seems to be a dearth of accurate description or provenance to many of the items as well.

  4. I contacted the MOD in the militaria to query a medal a seller had totally mis-described. Medal was pulled in 10 minutes, now how long would it take E-bay, 2 days!!!
