Commons vote on inquiry into Iraq today (31st October)

The House of Commons will vote this evening on a Scottish National Party led motion, which, if passed, could lead to a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Britain going to war in Iraq in 2003. The motion is likely to be supported by the Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru and probably the Tories, but will require the support of Labour rebels to win a Commons vote. 32 Labour MPs have already signed a Commons motion supporting an inquiry, so it looks as if Blair is facing possible defeat.
