I was discharged from RM training not too long ago, currently undergoing a medical appeal to join the army and if this is successful hope to join 29 commando in Plymouth. The RA seems like a good option to me as it seems like there are many specialist/elite regiments you can go on to and looks orientated towards a infantry type role. I was wondering what daily life within 29 was like mainly from people who’ve followed the same path, and could the option to potentially transfer to the RM be available down the line?
Also been considering the paras however I’ve always been a bit crap with heights and the trainasium looks like it would see me right off. Was wondering if this was something that I could build towards or is it just something you do once during P company and if you fail a few times that’s you done? Don’t want to seem like a potential Walt but just seeing what could be open to me.
Many thanks.
