He certainly was. I met him and his wife whilst down in Norfolk. He was a bit slow in his wheelchair at that time, but was a most gracious host. His den/office was a thing of beauty. he loved aircraft and when I asked him about the certicate on the wall regarding his bail out from a Phantom, he said was just pleased to have survived, but it was what he had been trained to do. Nothing special. Astonishing.A good bloke - PBUH...
