Combat Stress - the Marathon

Book Reviewer
( Not ANOTHER ruddy begging bowl!) yes, I'm afraid so.

Together with some fellow elderly STABs from 165 Port & Maritime Regt,
I am running in the United States Marine Corps Marathon ( Hoooo-yah!) on October 31st 2004.

We are running in aid of a British Service charity called Combat Stress.

Combat Stress is the only charity to support British ex-Servicemen and women who have been profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences on active duty. Founded in 1919, the charity offers both short-stay remedial treatment at three specialist centres across the UK and a regional welfare service supporting clients in their homes.

If you would like to sponsor me ( or one of my oppos) to hobble round this punishing course in the pitiless Washington sunshine, plse go to

Your anonymity is guaranteed. Alternatively, if you'd rather not pay online but would like to contribute anyway, plse PM me with a fax number and I'll send you my sponsorship form to fill out.

Secondly, if any ARRSE readers would like to take part in a charity event to raise money for Combat Stress, I'll be happy to pass on details in either direction.

Good on yer one and all, any help will be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks,

Le Chevre

Just to say a huge thanks to whoever sponsored me on Friday - outstanding that dude! :D

If any other ARRSE readers have a fiver to spare in aid of Combat Stress - and personally I look at it as more of investment - then do please take a look at my website :-
