Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Colin 'Hoppy' Hodgkinson joined the Fleet Air Arm in the late 30's but after suffering a training accident in a Tiger Moth, and loosing both legs he managed to do a 'Bader' by transferring to the RAF and regain flying status, where he made 2 FW190 kill's before being shot down over France and being taken prisoner, after 10 months in captivity he was repatriated to the UK due to the condition of his legs. He ended the war ferrying aircraft at filton and subsidising his wages with a little bit of smuggling (the items being put in his false legs).

I found this chap whilst looking through a bizarre thread on another forum to do with Douglas Bader being in a Hotel in Liverpool in 1942 when he should have been a POW, the author is a bit cracked.

Author joins in on page 3 and a internet bitch fight ensues.
  2. Nice find
