Cocoa but no oil!

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It would appear that the West is content to let people in Cote D'Ivoire kill each other,while the UN 'observes'.Could that be because cocoa is not as important as oil? Of course,African 'big men' are supported by Europe with money,and do not wish to grow ''smaller''
  2. Its already running in another thread, but by "west" I presume you mean US/UK, as French forces and the UN are already in that country.
  3. Is the West more responsible to respond? If so, why? Do other nations get a free pass? If so, why? Should this not be an entirely African problem?
  4. Agreed.We should stop sending financial aid to Africa.They do not deserve this,while they behave like savages.

  5. To be fair to the Western powers, the African nations have not requested any assistance. The Arab league asked Nato to defend the civilian population of Libya, besides, it's all over bar the shouting(shooting??) anyway and there was no need for us to intervene.
  6. Agreed.

    Back to the original point though, cocoa gives us chocolate and hot chocolate and oil & gas give us:

    - Petrol;
    - Diesel;
    - Bitumen
    - Propane & butane
    - Naptha
    - Kerosene
    - Lubricating oil
    - Fuel oil
    - PVC
    - Polythene;
    - Polypropylene;

    And so on.

    I'm happy for our supply of hydrocarbons to be safeguarded while allowing Mars Bars to be in 'iffy' territory.

    Edited for mongness
