Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone else heard this one?  Be interested to know.  Have it on good authority that baton gunners from a certain (non-local!!) unit managed to score several direct hits on PSNI officers during a recent public order situation.  The individuals concerned are either; 1.  cockeyed, and therefore probably not the greatest choice for the job.  OR  2.  In on some insurance scam from the aforementioned constables, who are no doubt claiming hefty sickness payments around now!!

  2. Minorly related, but I saw one of the soldiers from the Bn shot during a demo to a VIP. He though it was very realistic the way the troublemaker fell. The RMO though it was very realistic the way the bruising spread.

  3. The Federal Riot Gun was renowned for its effectiveness in the directly applied role, ie as a short but dense bat - rather than its ability to accurately launch baton rounds (or D Cell batteries in more extreme circumstances)

  4. It was even better if the baton happened to bounce a few yards short of the intended target so arriving about groin level. ....
