Cobat Fitness Test - Advice

I have just been made aware that I am going to have to do a CFT (8 miles, 2 hours etc). Having never done this before can anyone give me any training tips to ensure success. I have just returned back to fitness post hip resurfacing op, can breeze the 2.4 km run at 10.30 just don't know how much the added weight will affect me.

How can you never have done a CFT before?

I'm going to assume that you're a newby in the TA?

If so, then your unit shouldn't just dump you onto an 8 miler. Especially if you're recovering from an injury and are a recruit.

Let them know the score and find out what beat up training they're doing. Also have a scag around the TA and fitness forums as there's loads of info on this sort of stuff.
