Co-pilot Putin helps put out Russia's wildfires

My particular beef is that Thrush Thatcher - (she always was an irritable ****), came after my country in particular with a wrecking ball. Any opportunity she saw to destroy Scottish industries, she took with both hands, a JCB digger and a ******* huge Terex Truck. (which vehicles came in very handy to remove the remnants of our mass shipbuilding and steel industry).
You had it fecking coming you malcontent. Shame she left the job half done.

Jimmy Reid, the last decent Scottish Union leader, and a man who had the cheek to organise the opposite of a strike at a Scottish ship-yard, is dead.

And Thatcher still lives. Argh. Words fail me (which don't include swearys).

To Viceroy, reference "schuldig" and "schuldich", and the former being the correct spelling.

Mmm, I Googled both versions and both came up as accurate. C.f ''Wat ich schuldich war'': Privatkredit im fru¨hneuzeitlichen. Hannover (1550–1750). [Vierteljahrschrift fu¨r Sozial- und Wirtschafts- geschichte: Beihefte. ...
journals.cambridge.org/production/action/cjoGetFulltext?fulltextid... which, as you can see is from a German website.

I was mainly looking for the direct opposite of "Mea Culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" from the ould Latin Mass.
Any suggestions?

Tam
Aye. Only speak latin to those who understand it:-D

Aww, that would be too easy,

if you want a contemporary translation engine, try this: LEO Deutsch-Englisches Wörterbuch Your quote is "Mittelhochdeutsch" me thinks. Like English and other Indo-European lanaguages (You wont be pleased to hear this, but these languages originate along the Indus river in what is today India / Pak) have evolved and so has the spelling. "Schuldich" would have has been the spelling in the 16th century, but certainly no longer is. Thou get it?

Ok, sits corrected. Now, what about my Latin question?

Nope, nicht schuldich, not guilty. If I knew how to put that in Latin I would. I despise left-wing extremist union leaders and their ilk with almost equal ferocity. Particularly pricks like the two who run Unite, and are busily ******* up their members in British Airways.

She also saw fit to institute in Scotland before any other part of the United Kingdom the Community Charge, which anyone with any interest in history clocked straight away as a re-introduction of the Poll Tax, abandoned hundreds of years ago as a Very Bad Idea. Thus further endearing us to the whore.

Remind me again where the biggest riots against the Poll Tax were though? In sunny That London like? Full of middle-class voters?
Yeah, thought so.

To end for now, before I cover my keyboard further in vitriolic spittle, when I get confirmed news of the bitch's death, I will download the mp3 file of the "Ding Dong the Wicked Witch is Dead" song from "The Wizard of Oz", barricade my front door, and stick the song on at full blast in my 5.1 surround sound system on repeat until the fuzz come blundering through my door and huckle me away. Still singing along.

Tam
Well, fair play to you for not being a militant lefty! However, as bad as you think the introduction of the Poll Tax was, it was many many moons ago, and you may note that despite a couple of changes of name and also a goverment or three, it's still here, except it's now called a 'Council Tax'. I'm confused as to why none of the political parties have repealed this system of tax: Not the Conservatives, not Labour (in 13 years of government), not the Limps, not the coalition, not the Scottish Nationalists - hell, has any party actually called for the abolition of the council tax? Nah, didn't think so. I presume that this is because (with hindsight) it has been noted that it is not just those who own their own houses that require policing, street lights, bin collection and other such frivolous council-provided services, it also happens to be those who rent or sign on the dole. The tax is there to pay for the local provision of services by, wait for it, local councils to all local residents, no matter whether they own, rent or have the tax-payer provide their property. Unfair as some might think it (even those who don't pay any such tax due to the fact that they are indeed 'on the dole'), I would doubt very much that your solution would be any better (bar saying 'soak the rich' to pay for everyone else). Sooo Marxist!

As for shutting down various industries . . . . private industry? If so, how, if such an industry was healthy and self-funding, or do you mean that industry kept afloat by taxes levied on everyone? Industry that was also ridden with strikes and exceptionally dodgy working practices, like closed shops, shit hours and union in-fighting?

I appreciate some of your sentiment, and I'm glad you're not a trotskeist, but seriously, sometimes you need to run a broom through the place and start again all clean and tidy like. She was that broom, and she put an end to years of misery, conflict ad strife that was set to continue for many more had she not done what she did.

Schuldich was good enough in Hannover in the 1500s before there were any dictionaries (English or German) but it isn't hochdeutsch and it won't work now except in Plattdeutsch dialect, Schuldig is correct.

"Mea reus" I think (i'm the culprit,. Mea rea apparently means I'm the accused) but if you were on orders in a Roman legion I'd suggest Mea nocerus or nocera which doesn't mean i'm a rhinocerus it means I know nuffink.

Hmm, how about this idea? Those with big **** off expensive mansions and condos and apartments and so on, should pay far more tax on their properties than Wee Granny Gray Hips down the street in her wee single-end?

Or is that too Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist? I get confused by the terminology, they are all commie fuckwit ideologies to me.

That depends if those with big ****-off mansions, condos and apartments wash more times than poor old granny, or call the police more often, or have a special dispensation to have more street lighting or have their rubbish collected 4 times per week by chaps in spats and bow-ties rather than the usual once per fortnight by average bods in hi-vis jackets driving a truck.

If these bourgeoisie use more local public services than Mrs Brady (old lady), then by all means, charge them more. However, if they only shit once per day just like Mrs Brady, don't call the police that often, etc etc etc, they are obviously not 'taking' more from the service provision, and thus should pay the same. The truth of course is that the bigger your house the more you ******* pay anyway, so what's your illness?!?!? (See House banding for further information).

Lordy! First mention of Vladimir 'Village People' Putin and all the failed socialistas and commies come crawling out of the woodwork. Red Square, my old chum, have you noticed how, well, how do I put this . . . . . communism failed comrade. It's gone, done, finished, kaput. and to be fair, it's the Glorious Thatcher who helped consign it to the rubbish tip of history.

Really though, you have to hand it to her killing off the industries that were being destroyed from within by the unions, supported by the Soviet Union and various other communist and left-wing subversives. Apart from those who actually wanted to work, those that kept walking out on strike, week after week, month after month, year after year, well, they got everything they deserved - the dole.

Of course, if the peasants in Russia had shut down the collectives, or the same thing had happened in China 30 years ago, we know what would have happened to them - they'd have been jailed and/or killed. Thatcher let you ******* off lightly.

If the likes of you and TamH70 despise her, then she should be proud of her achievements. Maybe she reminded some of you that jobs are a hard-won privilege and not to be taken lightly, rather than a 'right' that you can squander through militancy and self-righteous demands.

As for Putin - he still looks gayer than an Army Chaplain on a mission.
Uh, excuse me, but the fastest growing economy in the world is being run by a communist government -- don't they tell you that in the Sun? As for capitalism, the capitalists in companies like Enron and Lehman Brothers would have bought down the whole rotten system system if it hadn't been for billions of dollars of Government money used to prop it up for just a little longer. Capitalism is just socialism in the hands of greedy children.

Well, yes. Lenin and Stalin did a much better job of keeping everyone in a comfortable, content lifestyle, except for the tens of millions that got 'purged' of course.

As for China - is that a Communist or Capitalist doctrine they are now following? I'm only asking because, well, for the last 20 years something's been a-changing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they've acquired a serious amount of everyones money these days, a whole bunch of enormous tower-blocks, banks, huge, profitable industrial complexes, rapidly expanding cities, millions of super-rich investors in suits, driving fast cars, living in expensive housing . . . . and a rapidly vanishing system of collectivisation; one might actually believe that the 'communist' ideology has been well and truly binned in favour of a thoroughly capitalist dictatorship . . . . people are even being paid their wages in cash, and in many cases, considerable amounts of it.

I'll quote you right back: It's the fastest growing economy in the world. That's because it's capitalist.

Economically capitalist? Well, that is debatable. Seeing as how most of their manufacturing industry is owned by the state, even the whizzy computer chip fab labs etc, and most of the clothing sector is ran by the PLA.

However, the politics are basically Maoist with a slight veneer of nicety about it. And I still don't trust the bastards.

Action Man Putin to the rescue. I am not sure if the propaganda value is that high.

Note for Ord Sgt. Student pilots and u/t Captains also sit in the left hand seat. Maybe Comrade Putin is trying to sell a bit more than his Superman image.
Been a skipper myself on the odd occasion, comrade Putin is a wannabe. Being a helicopter type the right-hand seat makes you the skipper!
